Eggs, caterpillars, chrysalis...butterflies

We have enjoyed watching our caterpillars grow.  The have munched and crunched their way through two plants.  We have had three girls and a boy butterfly this year.  Come in and read the great story we wrote together.  We have also painted butterflies at Little Mussels, you can see these in the cloakbay.

Sunflowers... Sunflowers...

You think these look good come in and see our finished masterpieces.  We have been so busy painting and overpainting even Van Gogh would be proud of us.  Our finished sunflowers look so great.

My Bright Vis Vest

Look at us all in our Bright Vis Vests.  We need to wear these to and from school so we are seen.  It is our job to look after them and keep them clean.  Next year another five year old will get to wear it.  Whanau look out for us when you go to and from school.  Be safe on the roads.

What's in the Bag? What's in the Bag?

We have been learning how we learn through our eyes.  Ms Switalla bought along some ways we can protect our eyes so we can keep on learning.  We are not sure about one pair of glasses but we all loved wearing them.

Just some of the literacy things we are doing...

Here are some shots Ms Switalla took of us when we weren't looking.  You can see how much we love learning.  We love having stories read to us.

Meet the Lovely Miss Lei

We are so lucky to have Miss Lei teaching us throughout the year in Ruma Rata.  Miss Lei is in most Tuesdays and will spend a few weeks with us later in the year.  Alofa ia te oe Miss Lei.

Just some of our learning in maths

Maths in Ruma Rata.  We have been made to walk the plank, use peanut butter dough and we got to eat our numbers.  We have been exploring the tricky teen numbers lately.  Ask me if I can count up to 20 and watch what happens when I hit zero on the way back down...

Learning through our sense of taste

We have been learning through our sense of taste.  We were brave and tried lots of different flavours.  Some were sweat, sour, bitter and salty.  We learnt which ones we liked more.  We also had to guess which flavour the popcorn was just using our sense of taste.  This was a really tasty week at school.  Ask me which flavour I liked best?
